Alternatively as an orchestra bassist, Brandon was also among the first to bring the double bass into the sound palette of symphonic brass bands in Singapore or now commonly known as wind orchestras.
In February 2005, a near-death accident that took almost a year to recover, re-learn, and play again terminated his preparations for studies abroad. Just 6 months before this tragedy, he was awarded a distinction for ABRSM Diploma in double bass performance.
Nevertheless, Brandon's persistence effort along with his wide experience & versatile musicality has landed him in the classical, jazz and contemporary genres the years after.
His resume includes Singapore Armed Forces Central Band(1999-2006), Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Singapore Chinese Orchestra & Thomson Big Band.
Musical credits notably includes The Wedding Banquet - The Musical (Second Generation), No Regrets: A Tribute to Edith Piaf (French Touch Productions/Sing' Theatre), A Twist Of Fate (Singapore Repertory Theatre), Beauty World 2008 (Wild Rice), Crazy Christmas (Dream Academy), Selena Tan: One Singular Sensation (Dream Academy) & Jacques Brel (Sing' Theatre).
Brandon Wong is currently a freelance & gigging musician in Singapore; playing in local jazz clubs & lounges, performing for annual Esplanade festivals such as the Mosaic & Dainsfest, and also the recent Chijazz 2007.
Among all things as a performer, he is also a recording engineer/recordist notably among the classical field in Singapore and local region.
